Ten years ago it wasn’t that common to switch your gas and electricity supplier – most people went with either British Gas or their local energy company, and if you wanted to switch, it would probably have involved lots of phone calls, paperwork and hassle.
The internet has changed all that. Price comparison sites (like uSwitch.com) have made it quicker and easier to find the best deal and switch. However, according to research from Consumer Focus, at least 10 million customers have never switched their energy supplier – and they could be missing out on some pretty significant savings as a result.
